Despite a last minute spring storm, Jessica Lehman, PT and I (Monica Clinesmith, PT) were able to make it up to Keystone for the Colorado APTA Conference. It was the first time in several years that the Colorado Chapter has offered multi-day conference in the mountains.
Both Jessica and I attended the cycling track, with each block offering education to help us better serve our many cycling clients. The presenter was Erik Moen, PT, a physical therapist with many years of experience on the bike himself, as well as helping cyclists of all levels of ability and background get back on the bike pain free. Topics included treatment of common cycling injuries including things to think about adjusting both on the bike and to help the cyclist to correct some common errors. We also discussed the differences in triathlon bike fit compared to the more common road fit.
Spring Conference is always a great way to continue to expand education, both with some review and with learning new information. However, even though the snow fell off and on the whole time, it made me want to head out on the bike!
