Golf Fitness and Golf Instruction Working Together

Home » Blog » Golf Fitness and Golf Instruction Working Together

Blog · August 21, 2014

If you’re golfer, there’s a good chance you may already be working on golf lessons with golf professional. Well, did you know that you may also benefit from also receiving a golf fitness assessment from a certified golf fitness personal trainer? that’s right. The two actually work hand in hand to help you get to your best possible golf game.

Watch the video with personal trainer, Aaron Andrus at Great Moves Physical Therapy:

VIDEO TRANSCRIPT:

“I would say, with golf fitness, you’re going to have your body tuned as well as it can be in the mechanics of the golf swing. So, what we want to do here at Great Moves is we want to work with you, with your golf instructor or even one of our instructors here if you want to do lessons on the simulator. But, they do go hand in hand because if you’re trying to coach the golf swing and you do a swing analysis, you can see.

For instance, let’s say someone has a really flat back swing. We look at that and you can make a couple predictions on why that is. For me, one of them could be flexibility. Maybe there was a previous injury that prevents them from getting the rotation out of their spine or even, maybe something where they have a rotator cuff injury and that hurts coming up. So, when you’re doing instruction – when you’re doing golf instruction – I think that we can help you with your swing mechanics.

If you want to change your swing to create a better consistency in your golfing, that’s an option too, but not always necessary, but I think instruction does go hand in hand with golf fitness, and if you can work both of them and mesh them together, I think you can really improve your golf game.”

Get the Most Out of Your Golf Game

Let’s face it … when we play golf, we always want to play our best game. If it’s not the lowest score in the group or tournament, that’s OK, as long as we feel we played our best game of sticks out on the links.

Well, golf instruction from a qualified golf professional is certainly going to help you achieve that. But what if your ‘fitness’ is what’s holding you back from playing great golf?

Don’t let physical fitness be your worst handicap.

Get with Great Moves Physical Therapy today and schedule a time to have your personal physical fitness analyzed by a qualified golf fitness trainer. You’ll likely not only hit the ball further, but more consistently … and without pain.

Golf fitness is just as much about endurance and form and is it strength, speed, and consistency … no matter what age you are.

Best of all, you’ll have full confidence every swing you make. Up in your head you’ll know you’re well ready to make this shot and make it well.
